"Decat, Decat, Decat"...... I've got one of Ben's, but haven't got round to fitting it just yet!! I did want to get it fitted before I head off to Yorkshire with the mob towards the end of next week, but it ain't gonna happen :Jawdrop: So when I get back, off comes the sodding useless EXVL gubbins and on goes the Ben decat' stuff. Sooooo looking forward to fitting it + the Speedy Com electronic gizmo, which fools the system into thinking all is well in the Ducati EXVL world. Then out and about again simply to hear how it sounds and to see how it goes, so look out "SERV", collections + deliveries should be quicker and a whole lot sweeter in terms of the noise feedback, if you get my meaning
Nope...I've got factory warranty until Oct 2016...so no gizmo's until then....well perhaps a trip to CJS...:Muted:
ON a serious note....Anyone had a recent (Skyhook) model have the Exhaust valve seize? Are they really going to replace the WHOLE exhaust???? SMC Bikes of Sheffield consider yourself NAMED and Shamed. No way this was greased in the last month... Annual service at 10 months old.
I got a recent sky hook, but it ain't got none of that shit on any more, just get it sorted and to Chris, you know you want to.
No valve issues here, the only exhaust issue is taking the bastard off for tyres at 3k took the spanner man an hour and cost me two bolts and a tenner
Hi Paul, have you checked it recently? Is it nicely greased up and moving properly. Mine had seized solid in the open position and with no EV error.
Skyook _ Two / three bars on the fuel gauge and the yellow light comes on..26 miles range! On the 2010 model the yellow light came on later and the range was always 45-47miles. Pls don't let me have fuel gauge issues as well!
Yup. Something not right there. Sure mine is 1 bar and 50 or 70 miles on range. Will check later today.
I've noticed that regardless of range , as soon as you hit two bars remaining the fuel light comes on. Whilst the range is a source of poetic license, 26 miles seems too wrong.
Would water pool in the area of the exhaust valve if you were a bit over exuberant when washing the bike? Might explain why it would stick. How would grease improve its action? Surely the grease evaporates the first time the exhaust gets hot? I do agree with Bradders about removing the exhaust can for rear wheel removal. Its a ball ache first time but got it down to a fine art now.
ACT! Get an exhaust specialist to open the exhaust and remove the catalyic core and close the exhaust box, leave the flap in the open position, or cut the flap out. On a twin spark engine as I have it runs really well! If you get a new exhaust from Ducati ask for the old one back, they very rarely ask for the old part, you can experiment with your old exhaust for free! I have fitted the Termi slip-on and its not as loud as the full Termi system which I had on my old 2010 MTS but it's deeper in tone and its cheaper on insurance!
