Replacement clip on bar

  1. Hi

After a low side on my 848 has left me with a bent bar, does anyone know of any after market alternative bar only replacement? Ducati will only sell it with the clamp for plenty of £££. I can see plenty of bars (Renthal etc) but can you get one that is compatible with the OEM clamp and that has the pin holes to fix the electrics?

    Thanks!

  2. Use a renthal one and dremel the daft useless good for nothing money making for the eyties pins off. They are not needed and , in fact, you can adjust the angles of the clutch and brake levers to be more comfortable for YOU. Rant over :upyeah:

  3. ok, so I can live without the pins but does the renthal bar fit the OEM clamp? I am guessing that the notch needed to accomodate the clamp bolt is another piece of proprietory non-compatability?

on the plus side have just finished fitting the new front clock/light housing so almost back on the road.

  4. Wanny....use your noddle.....pop the bar in then run a drill down the bolt hole..hey presto you'll be able to put the bolt in place !

  5. Get the Renthals (or whatever make) drill them if you want or cut the plastic pins off the controls for adjustability but, get longer bars as (IMO) they're more comfortable and make riding the bike easier due to more leverage.

  6. Get a bit of 22mm alloy tube from ebay mate.

  7. Warning in the Renthals, the clamp doesn't allow the OEM reservoirs to butt up close to the forks and stretches the throttle cables badly when on full lock right, with massive revs as a result.

  8. Dont confuse matters Baggazee............that is not true of just using the bars. Baggazee means the clamp assembly from renthal. A bar is a bar is a bar.

  9. I did miss the word 'only', apologies. Not too confusing when I specifically pointed to the clamp as the culprit though!

  10. Buy an SES one. Cheaper and more like the original. You will need to drill it but it's easy enough to do with the right tools.

  11. Hi Wanny, broke my left bar last month, got 1 of e bay from germany. Spot on del for £47.50 + £7.50 del. i can send you a link if you want.

  12. I was thinking of getting Renthals for my 749. Do they not fit properly then Bagga?

  13. Not on the throttle side with standard reservoir setup. I like the standard reservoirs though and have titanium caps on them so I'll be looking at alternative fittings to move them if I can.

  14. Duke - did you just have to drill it for the pins? it looks like the premium alloy ones have a notch for the clamp bolt?

  15. Ok, so what about the clutch side then?

  16. Clutch side's fine. :upyeah:

  17. I have boken both my wrists so am on a constant search fo comfort and adjustment I have had speedy moto & Heli bars on my 1098, the speedys can be put any where you want position wise but you have to miss the tank and fairings, and bend down/ shorten the fluid holders. The Helis if I remember have the pin which go down an locks into the fork assembly like the original.

PS stripping down at the moment, putting bike to original for sale, so both will be up for grabs

  18. Just a note that SES sorted me out and made me some bars especially, fit perfectly, great service and sensible price.
