Pirelli Angel GT

  1. My Angel GT's have now done about 2500 miles but i have noticed that the front tyre is wearing with that same weird stepped pattern that seems to happen to every Pirelli tyre i have had.

  2. I can answer this question, I'm on my second rear Angel GT the first one died at around 5200. I fitted a new one just before I set off for my 4000 mile Europe trip, 2 up with full GT panniers. Apart from the puncture I got in the rear today I'd of said it would have been good for another 1000 miles or so. I will be fitting my third Rear tomorrow I've already got it in my loft

Oh and I feel I must mention I'm over 18 stone and ride like a loony most of the time, with and with out the wife on the back (shes a bit of an adrenalin junky, thank god)

  3. I have had my multi GT for just over a year now. My original Angel GTs covered just under 9000 miles before I changed them last month and that included 3500 miles 2up to Dubrovnik last year. Needless to say I replaced them with another pair of Angel GTs!! Cannot recommend them highly enough!

  4. I'm 5400 miles into the original Scorpions and it's looking like they'll need changing before the winter. I had Angel ST's and then the updated GT's on my last bike and really liked them in all weathers and road conditions, so they'll be going on the Multi without doubt.

  5. I managed to stretch my Scorps out to just under 5k miles ..... then my rear got punctured by a twig!

I replaced them with Angel GT's and I'm very pleased with my choice. They now have 7k miles on them, mostly high speed continental touring two up with baggage. I have to admit I don't push it in the wet so can't really comment on that side of things.

They have only recently started to square off so the dual compound works well. I might get another 1500 miles out of them.

  6. Front Scorpion on my 2011 bike worn after just short of 4000 miles. Rear still had a fair bit of life left. However decided to change to Angel GT's all round.

  7. where do you guys buy your Angel GT's from? Local or online, I am in York and Derby. Any help as i am due a change for the winter?

  8. Changed at dealers Onyerbike Aylesbury during service. Tyres £300 all in including fitting..

  9. 7000 km on my Angel GT's and still going strong here!
Off for a weekend of riding in the mountains this weekend as well :)

  10. Had Angel GTs for 2500 miles since April. They are too good, got tempted to be lazy gear changing, inappropriate braking in daft places etc. They take it with ease and keep me safe. Three weeks ago we started to get the rain after that had to start behaving better but they are still brilliant. May be just me but on DS1000 Multi on wet roads steering feels light and over steers, not a problem but human response needs to be better. Still no signs or wear.

Don't want to go back to Scorpions I had five rears and two fronts and thought they were great at the time. Tyre technology improvements really make vast improvements to a bike.

  11. Ouch that's expensive.

  12. Removing the exhaust doesn't help the labour charge of course. The charge for the tyres was £240. I had to hammer them down on the labour charge however. :)

  13. i have gt, s on my blackbird was very impressed with the feel/grip.

BUT In my wisdom i put st, s on my MULTI 3 k later its stuffed 1mm to marker not sure if another brand will give better milage or to risk a set of Gt, s.

  14. Swamping get yourself along to Ian Brown tyres at Malton just up the a64 from york give a fantastic service and equally good prices.

  15. I got about 9000 km on my Angel GT's. Rear tyre was starting to square off... and even the front tyre tread was getting very close.

I've put Bridgestone T30's on this time to try... as I've heard good things... oh and I saved AUD$130 on them instead of putting Pirelli back on.

  16. The pattern you are describing, is it a high block, then a lower block, alternate tread blocks changing height?

  17. Yes that's the one. Its a Pirelli trait i understand.
