Accessory Socket

  1. First question on here. I have a '98 ST2 as my first Ducati. It shares the garage with my BMW K100RS and the wifes BMW F800ST, I have been a BMW fan for all of my life.
I understand that the later ST2/4 has an electrical accessory socket somewhere as standard. Can anyone tell me where it is fitted and where it is wired into please?
I need one for GPS, phone charging and bike to bike intercom charging.

  2. On my 2005 ST4S it is ( actually was, past tense, i moved it) on the left side by the pillion footrest hanger. Its tucked up near the plastic seat fairing thingy.
I moved mine to inside the deep plastic tray under the front of the seat.
It is wired into the live side of the harness so you can put a trickle charger into it as well . I did not realise this until after i had wired in the Optimate lead to the battery and left it hanging out of the right side of the fairing just like most others do.

  3. Thanks for that. After your post I have downloaded the ST4 handbook and wiring diagram and all is now clear. I will fit one in the morning.

  4. Useful info... I wonder if my ST4 has one - maybe I should go look :)

  5. A 4 should have one, a 2 may or may not.. I fitted one to my 2 and mounted it in the RH fairing vent, just above the battery. wired direct to the battery via a fuse and a plug for fairing removal.
