It's on your doorstep lads. I suggest you pack up and do it. Its Britians only Alpine pass. Amazing roads with amazing scenery. Its called the Applecross pass. The Applecross Inn does AMAZING food. I recommend the Scallops. WOW. You MUST have a rad and oil cooler guard fitted as stones flying up are a hazard. Here are some of the snaps along the way. Enjoy
What he said. Did it myself last year for the first time. The road surface could be better (putting it mildly  ) but surrounding countryside is just first class and it really is as close to an Alpine pass as you will find in this country. If I may make a suggestion, Stay in Ullapool and use this road to visit Skye for the day, fantastic. Chris.
Yeah supercharged! Skye, Ullapool etc... All of Scotland's west coast is shear heaven for bikes. Lots of wee pubs to visit, small town etc. just amazing. I live 60 miles away in Inverness and this is the first time I've been here. SHAME ON ME!!!
Oh god lets not get into the whole Yorkshire conversation again please . Some of our American friends just don't understand our love of corners/curves. My cousin is married to a Yank who rides a Harley, he was telling me to go to America, hire a Hardlymovingson because I would love the roads in America as they go straight for as far as the eye can see! (Sounds like hell doesn't it). He also went on to say he believes our roads are made by following the cows around as the roads in the UK twist and turn for no reason! Some people just don't get it but each to their own.
It is odd tho, I do, as an idea of a holiday. Quite fancy the idea of bimbling through the desert in AZ and up to the Grand Canyon and all that, on one of those god awful unspeakable things, hmmm. Edit - Perhaps a Diavel would be a better idea.
Perhaps? What do you mean Perhaps? Of course a Diavel would be better idea (than a Hardlymovingson). Personally I would like to freight my Mutly over and spend a month touring that region (and others). bucket list I guess. I also fancy going down the west coast, or touring parts of Canada, Rockies etc. More fore the bucket list. Anyone on here done any of these? Anyone fancy something like this? Chris.
Beallach na ba, or the Pass of the Cattle, done it on both motorcycle and pedal cycle, it is the highest continuously climbing public road in the UK. Stunning route, you really can't go too far wrong on the West Coast of Scotland.
Weather looks better than the last time I rode it, best roads in the Uk the run to Durness is a cracker also and then across to John o groats, but Skye, Inverness are belters to plus the whole A82 up there
