  1. Just watched 44 Inch Chest. Been sitting on this one a long time, waiting to see if I could be bothered with another crime gang drama ... boy, was I surprised! Not what I was expecting.

I won't say it was the finest movie I have ever watched but it did hold my complete attention all the way through in a way that even the best Hollywood blockbusters usually fail to do. Excellent entertainment but I hope you don't mind "realistic" language.

The cast list alone - like Christmas and your birthday, all at once!

  2. I haven't seen it, but it comes across to me like Sexy Beast wannabe. Is that about right?

  3. I haven't seen Sexy Beast and don't know the plot.

I recommend watching 44 Inch Chest without knowing what it's about and wait to be pleasantly surprised!

Actually, I make a point of trying to know as little as possible about the films I watch. They are infinitely more enjoyable if you don't know what you are about to see and hear.

  4. Been to see Vincent with Bill murry a good film which gives you something to think about on how people live there life and why and don't judge a book etc.

  5. Just watched Fury! Brad Pitt kicking the shit out of a SS platoon with a broken down tank :D

  6. Nightcrawler so good.

  7. What caused the SS platoon's tank to break down ?

  8. I enjoyed Fury and The Hunger games part 1,
This month Night at the Museum 3 comes out :upyeah:

  10. Just watched Pacific Rim - would have preferred if the two main blond chaps had been Ryan Gosling or Vinny Jones or just about anyone else but the visuals were mighty grand & good for a Sunday afternoon

  11. I went to see 2001: A Space Odyssey on the big screen yesterday. Despite seeing it loads of times and having owned it on VHS, DVD and Blu Ray it was still an amazing experience

  12. Mrs Redblur and I are going to watch Blade Runner in town on Sunday evening. Latest, totally final final directors cut or something. One viewing only, just after tea :)
Probably my fave film of all time. See it dozens of times but never on the big screen. Can't wait! Amazingly it was made the year we got married which must make it at least 70 years old, yet the effects (and music) are still damn good.
I would also like to see 2001 in the cinema....and perhaps silent running too.

  15. I'm a firm believer than you shouldn't ask anybody else to explain a movie/book. Its all about interpretation

  16. Anyone who has enjoyed the movie Revolver will agree with this POV :)

  17. Revolver had a clear cut story line. This movie above every time you were settling in to Oh I know what is going on boom they shut it down right till the very last second. Even at the end I was thinking of that is what's up, final 10 seconds boom. Or in Cartman voice god damn it.

  18. Don't watch Mulholland Drive then
