Dude, if you manage to sell (Bargain at that price) you need to buy the extended warranty before you transfer the bike into the new owners name. Clearly get the extra cash from the buyer, but according to Ducati only the original purchaser can extend the warranty. That warranty can then be passed on to the 2nd and 3rd owners etc.
I have the same model with a very similar mileage, different extras but similar total value and Snellers only offered me £9,500 against a 14 PP with 3,000 miles priced at £14,750.
I look at it this way: 6k is a year's bills for family holidays. Kids grown up now so I've divorced the wife. What else would I spend the money on? Gather ye rosebuds and carpe diem, I say. Because tempus sure does effin fugit!
more importantly then. Why am I paying insurance on a bike valued at 13k when its realky worth less than 10?!
might be worth lowering the value with the insurer. They won't pay out more than market value anyway.
I always say market value.."I would like to insure my bike for what you will pay out in the event of loss" Give condition and mileage and ask for the figure for your records ..! It will not vary by much between insurance companies..tried it; )
If you agree to a value, then that's the maximum they will pay out. I bet if you say its worth £2000 less though, the premium will not change.
Moley good luck with selling the Mutli, I didn't appreciate there was another owner so close, like adjacent even and with the same exhaust modifications too Why getting rid they are superb machines, if somewhat finicky and frustrating!
Please note: I will consider a part exchange on any of the following machines with a good spec: BMW R1200RT SE BMW GSA 1200 With Luggage Norton Commando MK2/3.
