I have just removed a race ecu and termignoni slip ons and refitted the standard ecu and standard cans. The problem is that the engine management light is on. Bike starts fine. Anyone know what the problem could be. Any help would be much appreciated
Probably nothing to worry about, my 999 EM light came on, went out flashed on and off over a few miles so I took it into my local dealer and had it checked. There was nothing in the memory and it was put down to a glitch, apparently anything from a flat battery can set them off. If you've changed ecu you've probably confused it a bit. I would take it to a dealer, take the side off so the mechanic can plug in their laptop and have a look. Might be worth getting them to set the TPS at the same time. I went round the back and gave the mech a drink for looking at mine.
I bought the bike and the termis were fitted already with the ecu (factory fitted) anyway with engine management light on. The error code is lamb 22. Which means lambda heater error. Does anyone know if the exhaust sensor has to be removed when fitting termi slip ons and race ecu as I can't find the sensor on the exhaust any help would be much appreciated
You don't need to take the lambda out when fitting the end cans, the DP ECU just ignores it but if someone has removed it when they were fitted then yes you will get the light illuminated when the stock ECU trys to read it. The 1098 and 848 only have one in the horizontal cylinders header pipe and the 848evo and 1198 have two, one in the other. I have some spare OEM lambdas cheap, if your not in a rush for one. Anth
Anth... im getting the lamb.22.2 error... What should I be looking for.., whats @ fault, can you help thanks
Sounds like a faulty sensor. My problem was that the sensor wasn't fitted but it didn't show up until I fitted the standard ecu. If I was you I'd buy one off ebay and try it. If it doesn't fix it sell it back on eBay. Hope this helps
Cheers for the input... it transpires I have the Lambda's missing... Not sure what happened there.. Looks like the previous owners removed them.. ummm.. Not sure what to do now..... im guessing if I pick up a aftermarket full system with ecu.. I won't need them?? Looking @ a Zard system JA
Buy a second hand lambda.....remove the blanking plug in the horizontal cylinders header pipe, screw the lambda in and plug the other end into the plug in connector on your loom......light out job done.
Or flash the ecu with the lambda turned off in the flash. If you put a full system on you'll get an error from exhaust valve servo next...unless you get a DP full system ecu, or again flash your existing ecu to turn the servo detection off. Theres a theme building here
I can Now I've read the full thread. Your DP ECU had the lambdas disabled hence the blanking plugs. The Stock ECU has the lambdas enabled hence the CEL. The choice is now yours. 1.Reinstate the Lambdas for no CEL. 2. disable the lambdas in the ECU for no CEL. 1. you can do yourself. 2. requires a reflash of the ECU And as I have said on other threads, if you go route 2, take the opportunity to get rid of the exup cables and motor. If you want to try out route 2 then I can loan you an ECU to try out. All I need to know is the model/year and what is printed on the white lables on your ECU. PM me about this, all I ask is you pick up the postage costs.
Chris thanks for the info & offer of assistance.. will get back to you via a PM if that's ok.. cheers JA
I do have a few spare new lambdas if you choose the lambda refitting route, but considering the possible full system figment flashing an ecu with both the lambda and exhaust valve off will bro ably work out more cost effective in the end. Which I'm sure Chris will sort, if you don't want to experiment yourself. It it worth learning how to do it yourself and the cables will also work with Ducatidiag diagnostic software.
