1098/1198 Engine And Loom

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Emdog16, Jan 29, 2015.

  1. Hello hello all,

I'm not sure if this is my first post or not on this forum but please don't hate me if it is... I promise it won't be my last.

I'm starting a 1098/1198 conversion project for my 748 enduro race bike and I'm starting to look around for a motor.
I'm planning on running the entire loom from the modern bike from the display to the engine to the tail light wires.

Has anyone got this stuff hanging around? Is anyone breaking a bike or two or ten?

Ideally I would like either a street fighter engine or an 1198 engine.

Thanks guys (and gals if applicable).

    Emo.

  2. Hi Erno
i don't have a motor but i manufacture carbon lower air boxes and alluminium injector trumpets for this conversion if you need them.

I was getting excited :Woot: or do you mean the airbox, this was the airbox I got with the bike from the breakers it had been flipped into a ditch & this was damaged in the accident replaced with a nice carbon jobbie, never throw ought away me and this had been hung in the garage for 10 years knew it would come in useful some day :upyeah:

  11. yes, it is designed for using with the 748r upper, ive been making them for a few years initially in titanium and eventually got round to making a mould for carbon, the whole assy is around 280g

  14. ok, the kit also does away with the heavy bracket between the two throttle bodies, they now bolt directly to the carbon air box, as does the steper motor
price is £365 plus delivery, lead times are approx 5 to 6 weeks.
thanks for all the questions and allowing me to post some of my work on the forum.
    Phil
