Any Point In Running An Open Clutch On A 900ss?

  1. Curious to know. Is it just fashionable or trendy to run an open clutch, or are there any actual advantages?

The only one I can think of is it would probably keep your clutch cooler thanks to the extra airflow so maybe less likely to get really hot and sticky in traffic or on very long runs?

    Thanks!

  2. guess it would blow the dust out aswell

  3. Looks good, sounds good, just wish I could:(

  7. Upside - sound, keeps the dust clear and runs cooler

Downside - drop the bike on the right side while running and clutch and fairing damage is quite likely.

  8. Is it a dumbass question, or should you worry about rain getting into it?

  9. You should worry about water ,the problem is if you put the bike away after water getting into the clutch plates, and don't ride for more than a week or so the plates can stick together with rust. Easy to fix,but a PITA as you find this out when you need to get going!

  10. the action of the clutch spinning would tend to fling out any water
