Has anyone tried this combination yet, if so any feedback would be great before i decide to take the plunge.
Tons have, have you tried searching for it? You will even find tons of youtube clips with it, so you can hear it.
I have, Leo vince de-cat pipe and standard can - sounds awesome but far too loud!!! Ended up buying there end can as well!!!
If you have a 1200 then you can switch the riding mode, Touring, Sport, Urban, Enduro and Old Bill. The later makes it quieter for MOT and when police following.
Bike came with k+n fitted so can't comment on what difference that makes, bike seems to rev a bit more freely and pull a bit stronger with exhaust swap and certainly sounds better, haven't noticed much difference regards mpg and doesn't run much better below 3 k, so tend to keep the revs above that.
LV Decat fitted and yes, it's loud It runs brilliantly though and feels like a totally different bike. If you can live with the noise, it's great. Haven't been pulled by the old bill yet but always keep the revs down when they are around, no point taking the p1ss is there?
Am running the mivv ghibli system now. Did exactly what you intend to do ie decat and stock end pipe. Improved exhaust flow resulted in better fuelling at low rpm better mpg and a better ride.but it was loud seriously loud. Remember the stock end can is not a silencer so does not improve noise abatement. Never used the BR baffle either as it looks way to restrictive.
What do you think of the Ghibli system? I do like that moto GP style look. Its just a bit different......
I like the Ghibli. Run it most of the time with the end baffle removed which is still quite loud but at least I can pass an mot if I have to by replacing the baffle! The Termi shorty was way too loud and so was the standard end can! Coming home from the Ace cafe last night and a cop on a mbike riding next to me was more concerned about the 3mph excessive speed I had In the 50 mph zone than the exhaust! he didn't stop me, but rode past furiously tapping his speedo! So I guess the pipe is not too loud or he didn't want to stop!
