Track Gearing 1199 Panigale

Depends what track......

 

Drop one off the front, suit almost everwhere I reckon.

 

OK, the gearing for Almeria is....15/41. Standard Panigale R gearing.
I mucked about a bit but found this to be spot on.

So you got flat out to max power in top then?

 

Nope, 10k in 6th. But it's not all about that and maybe a skinnier dude would be flat out at that gearing. However with that gearing you do get a good run in 6th on the back straight and it works well through the rest of the track.

 

10k in top has to be prety much there! Is the R gearing shorter than other Panigale?

 

Yep it is different. Up 2 on the back I think, but not 100% sure.

Most bikes suit -1 front as a good starting poimt as normally geared for high top end. Werent the ealier R models also lower gearing?

 

Spot on, standard is 39 teeth on rear sprocket.

 

Not sure about early R's. Here's a gear chart that shows the difference between -1 on front and +2 on rear, if the charts correct ofc . Handy to have anyhow.
