Diaval Bike Stands

Discussion in 'Diavel & XDiavel' started by Cotton Runt, Mar 1, 2015.

  1. Guys

What bike stands are you Diaval owners using?..... I'm looking to get one preferably that lifts the middle of the bike and lifts both wheels off the ground at the same time.. I've had a read thro this part of the forum and there appears to be very little info on this anywhere.

I've searched the web and bursig make one but its a tad on the expensive side but looks a quality bit of kit, think there is another called warrior stands but that looks a little more flimsy...

Any info/advice would be appreciated.......... Getting the new bike in a couple of weeks so have a bit of time to get this sorted......

    Cheers

  2. At the London bike show last month there was a British company with a centre lift that attached to the frame and lifted both wheels off the ground using one of the frame holes with an adapter in, they had a Diavel as the demonstrator, I think they were called ConStands. I had a go and it work well, they wanted £180 at the show.

  3. Mike

thanks for that, i will do a search and see what comes up..

    cheers

  4. Collected my 2012 last week and it came with a spider stand. Sounds like a similar thing.
Very handy so far and will be invalubale come tyre change time I think.
I think most of these are based on the Bursig stand which seems to be the original.

  5. I have one of the original version Constands and it has worked great for me. The only fiddly bit is trying to even out the lift front and rear as it is obviously front end heavy from where the stand lifts the bike.

  6. I've noticed mine lifts the back first. I plan a some point to play with the plate and try to even the lift out.

  7. Try Abba Sky Lifts they are awesome bits of kit... level bike... wheelie... stoppie...

  8. I have two :D they are fab - can't beat them

  9. Has anyone tried the 1jac ?

Similar to the Abba sky lift I saw these at the NEC show last year and they were awesome but around £300 .

Was thinking about buying one of these soon .

  10. It's a Bursig copy. There are a handfull of companies doing the Stand. I had one come with mine. Very good makes working on the bike much easier. Better than the ABBA stand I had years ago I feel, never seen/tried the skylight thou which looks good.

  11. Are you sure it's a Bursig copy, do you not think the Bursig is made in China and is actually a copy of the 1Jac

  12. The sky lift is by far the best option if you don't mind the price - it isn't at all similar to a 1Jac in function.

  13. I think the Bursig is the accepted original. It may well be manufactured in China.

  14. The sky lift is by far the best option if you don't mind the price - it isn't at all similar to a 1
No, the 1Jac designer was the original: - I forget what the first stand was called now. His business partners split and took it to China, the Chinese ones have many brand names, Bursig being one - he set up as 1Jac after the split :)

  15. How long ago? Remember being shown a Bursig something like 2 years ago. So. Eine need to tell them their a copy because there on a few forums declaring they were the first.

  16. Not sure how long ago but a lot more than 2 years! The guy in Leeds designed it and had business partners. They fell out and his partners took it to China.
My mate knows one of his old business partners in York who still has about 20 of the original UK stands.
1Jac owner was the original designer - I would imaging it says so on his web site. There is plenty of info on the web stating what happened.
Also a thread on here explaining it all too :)

  17. I don't doubt what you say but Bursig are definitely claiming to be the original.

  18. So, 1986 was when it was designed - a quick Google found this from the inventor which gives a little clarity...

    Hi Everyone.
My name is Nigel Vause. I am the inventor of the single sided post jack.
I have been reading your posts with interest and hope you dont mind me chipping in with a comment or 2.

    Just to clarify,
Sumomoto in China make a copy of an old design of mine. My first build of this product was way back in 1986. The first bike I ever lifted was a C reg Slabside GSXR750. I still have the bike.
I was granted the intellectual property rights over it but made a very foolish schoolboy error as I had released some bespoke ones to racing lads at the time which prevented a patent being issued.
Since that time I have worked at improving the original and over the last 28 years have made changes and developments that are to this day unique to the jack.

Some years ago I was offered some investment by local businessmen and started a company called Envy. Initials of my name, however once the lifts began selling it became apparent they had no wish to invest in the R and D the product deserved, but more the fast buck. Without going into the depths I was locked out when I began to question the very ethics of the business I seemed to be working in night and day. The Mrs rang me one day to tell me the mortgage had not been paid. Silly me, working away in a workshop with a product I believed in while deals were being done....Was this when it went to china?????
Anyway, It all went wrong. a few customers ( I have all the records) were left without lifts or parts.
I met up with an old friend, Steve Webster a short time after this and explained what had happened and we decided not to let such a great idea go to ruin so we went to meet a guy who was capable of investing in it and was also a biker.
We went into business as 1jac Ltd. Here we are.
At every opportunity I have advertised and talked about the Envy customers, and I have dealt with nearly every single customer now (the only ones have moved with no forward address or contact details).
I was not obliged to do this as I was exonerated by a court from any debts of Envy, but there is more than that to me. Im a biker and those guys I met at events put their trust in me and that was important. Im a Yorkshireman and proud of my upbringing.
If there are any of the 4 remaining customers here from envy then Im happy to send you a free 1jac and apologise for the 18 month delay.
As for the 1jac. It has gone through 28 years of development. We will never drop your bike. The sumomoto made chinese copy you can buy as a Bursig, Warrior, Spider bla bla is badged for them. Put them all together and you will see they are a salesman item.
The 1jac is a well Engineered jack, welded by coded welders with test certs for every piece of steel. The high grade tool steels in the adaptor kit has test certs measured in tonnes not kilos and a very unique LTL (Load to Lock) system prevents your bike from being able to drop off. Good solid Engineering. Memory steel that flexes because we ask it to change the direction of the pins and a lifetime warranty.
This is the original. If Sebastian Bursig wishes to sue me I look forward to it. I have 24 Sheet metal workers sworn statements and we can carbon date the first one ever built to 1986. It sits in the workshop in Leeds if anyone wishes to come have a look.
And finally, some things are worth paying a litlle more for, you can buy a spanner from china and it will work well for a few goes, its not a snap on but it does the job. Right up to the time you get a tight nut and it wraps your knuckles.
    Thanks for reading my novel.
    Kind regards NV.

  19. Like I said I didn't doubt what you said. Unfortunately I don't get paid by my work to spend hours on google researching injustices of the world. It does make me wonder how Bursig feel they can make that claim. Ask pretty much anyone who's stand that is and most will say them. This is the first time I have even heard of 1jac. Have seen the stand at shows but please don't ask me which company were selling it.

  20. Always good to know the truth if you stumble across it though as I did. :)
