Daytona Security Evo 3 Gp Boots

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Slickbass, Mar 18, 2015.

  1. Hi all

I am ready to take the plunge and purchase a pair of the above boots as long as my wife does not find out beforehand.

As the cost is high I would like to get the pair sized spot on and this is where I am having difficulty.

The thing is I live in South Africa where the weather is good (in the grips of autumn at 27 Celsius today) but there is no Daytona agent present so I can't try a pair on.

I have made contact with one of the German retailers and they are prepared to order a pair and send them to me but obviously the retailer and Daytona themselves are worried about getting the correct size after I sent them an outline of my feet. They are saying 46 or 47.

As I want to do the full GP upgrade as well as my own colours the risk of ordering these is that they obviously do not fit.

Anyhow my shoe size is a UK 11 (I have Church's which are a 110 with width F which fit well) which, as far as I am aware, translates to a 46 European size. I do however wear a 47 Adidas but have always found their sizes to be on the small side.

Now where I would like assistance is that is there anybody that has similar sized feet to me that has purchased the Daytona Security Evo 3 GP boots? If so how did the sizing work out.

I have searched the topic and another forum member wears a 43 shoe as well as Daytona boot so this makes me lean towards a 46.

I suppose I could order the inner boot in a 46 and see how that fits and if all good get the outers and if not send back and get a 47. Obviously if anybody has experience in the sizing of the inners it would be great if you could chime in.

As for reference I am looking at something like this (but possibly a white stripe instead of chrome/silver):

    Thank you in advance

  2. I'm a uk 11 and have the evo boots. I will check on size of them this evening.

  3. I'm a UK 11 in ordinary shoes/trainers and have the Security Evo's, and they are a nice snug fit at EUR 46 :)

  4. Thanks for the replies gents.

Have either of you worn Adidas trainers and if so do you find the need to go to a 47 for them?

Also Cranker if you could let me know your security evo size that would be great. I hope your boots are yellow?

  5. I am size 12 and take a 47 in my Daytona evo boots.

  6. If you mean the narrow and long Adidas trainers like the 'Superstars' then yes, I've had 47's in them, precisely because they are too narrow!!

  7. Bit of an update:

I did not end up ordering a pair of Daytona boots and instead found a pair of BMW Motorrad Security Evo boots for R5,500 which works out to about GBP 280.

    The boots:

This worked out cheaper than ordering just the inner boot from Europe and I got to try on a size 45, 46 and 47. Ended up with a pair in size 46.

I was told by the salesperson at BMW that they were available for a discount due to the boot being discontinued by BMW.

Anyhow now I know my correct size and may order outer boots soon.

Thank you to everyone that replied.
