7500mile Service For A 1098 Sf

  1. Aye up!!

    So my first service since owning the bike is fast approaching!! I got a quote from my local dealership yesterday and was given a price of £680+vat!!! Valve clearance, new belts etc etc

    Am I been shafted here or does this sound about right? Also can any of you long term ducati owners recommend any good reliable garages in the london/essex area that may be able to knock about £600 off?!?! Lol

  2. why don't you do the easy stuff yourself and let the dealer check valves?

  3. Lack of experience I suppose mate.......Only thing I done on my old bike (fz6) was change the front pads and oil....worth learning though now I own a Ducati just to keep the cost down.

  5. You won't find an easier bike to do an oil change on than a Streetfighter.

  6. Are you anywhere near Welwyn Garden City Wonky? I took mine (and still take my 749) to a garage there. Major/belt service for the 749 was £250.

    Duncan the owner is lovely bloke with a 916 with 500 miles on it from new.

  7. Yeah I know what your saying mate......I'll have a look on YouTube see if there's a few vids. Need to find out exactly what's gonna get done in the service aswell

  10. Yeah it could've been me mate I was off last Wednesday....washed the bike and went out for a spin.

  11. Was thinking of trying Parkinson's or MOTO V I think he's called now. Tried ringing him a couple of times today but there was no answer

  12. Mines on 5k miles and i need belts next April, so will do valve check all together,

    Let me know how you get on i am only up the road from you A127.

  13. Ok mate will do.....I'm on 6440 at the mo but I'm out all day Sunday and going to manchester next wknd so the miles are gonna rack up.....we'll have to nip out for a ride if your only up the road. Im at the top of the a12 just before the M25 roundabout....

    If dry i am going to ride over to Hysides as they have moved to a much bigger shop now to have a look,

    They are next door to the Triumph dealers in Romford, London road, i need an mot on mine in the next two weeks so might ask when there.
