Sat Nav Mount

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Mark Raynor, Mar 17, 2015.

  1. I have been looking through the forums for a suitable sat nav mount for my tomtom rider2.

The idea I like the most is the gadget guy mount as it mounts to the handlebar clamp, which is what I am after, however, I have contacted the gadget guy but I got no response, so he is either, on holiday, dead, or ignorant.

With the above in mind does anyone know of any other alternatives that are handlebar clamp mounts?

If not I shall make my own.

Cheers in advance for any help [emoji3]

  2. Touratech do a bar clamp not cheep 2 parts or

Look thur this site should be some pics [emoji12]

  3. Cheers for the replies, think I may have a go at making my own.

  4. Cheers vau, I did look at that, but the lack of adjustment put me off.
Have got a local engineering firm to make me something, will see how I go on with that when its finished.

  5. Hi,
I am still waiting to mount my Zumo 220, but cannot find the replacement top handlebar clamp to enable the bracket to fit. If anyone is using one, does it have a part number on it anywhere, or even better, does someone have one surplus to requirements that I can buy. Will exchange my mint original (like in the hand in the photo), for the replacement one (mounted on the bike in the photo). Picture is from the Web.

Navihalter I find the best position for gps

  7. If this is the one above the clocks 'GS style' then this is what i have. The best place for them.

  8. Does the Navihalter obscure the screen adjuster?

  9. It attaches to the top part of the screen adjuster. It does make it a bit more difficult to use. I find that I can't adjust the screen on the move as I need two hands. I think this is a reasonable trade off to put the sat nav in the best location.

  10. Hi
Do you mean the hinge bracket / sat nav holder as in pic below? I've just taken mine off and there is a number buried (naturally!) inside the bracket (see pic): I think it's 808.1.145.1A. Not absolutely sure about the first 8. And also >PAGF30<.
How desperate are you? I am looking to change my zumo and reposition above the clocks, hence searching around on the forum for ideas on wiring. I'd probably have bunged my current bracket / wiring on ebay if I get the new one fixed but could be a few weeks yet...
    Hope this helps

  11. Jon,
Thanks for your help but it is the bit attached to the bike in the photo I need, I have the parts in your photos, brand new and waiting to be used. It is the metal replacement top handlebar clamp I require, that comes with the satnav kit and replaces the standard, more triangular clamp, pictured in the hand on my photo. I got the photo from the web.

  12. Doh! Sorry mate. I understand now, why didn't you say?! Thought it was odd not having the bracket! When I can get the one off my bike I'll check to see if you still need a response

  13. Thanks, appreciate that.

Ended up making my own .

  15. Very nice

  16. Nice job. I got mine into a similar position using a RAM mount ball and short adjustable arm, which worked well. I switched to the Navihalter when I went touring as I coundn't see the satnav over the tank bag

  17. I used to have one mounted there on my Fazer 1000 (don't want anyone thinking I had a 600) haha, so know it wont be a problem for me. Love the idea and location of the Navihalter, but hate the idea it makes it difficult to adjust the screen. One of the reasons I went for the year I did was one handed screen operation. Don't use tank bags anymore, which reminds me, I have a magnetic one to sell, they get in my way. It cost me £40 to make, which being a Yorkshireman is ALOT! but quite happy with the results, time will tell how I get on. Is that sunshine I see outside, roll on the bank holiday!!
