I have a smaller number plate for the Multi, looking at the mounting bracket that it fits to, it looks like I am not going to be able to fit the plate without having it sticking out the bottom or cutting it (which I don't really want to do) Whats the solution, is there another bracket available (maybe for another market) or is there another option??
If you don't want to fit an aftermarket tail tidy, you could get a smaller bracket like this: DUCATI PERFORMANCE SMALL NUMBER PLATE BRACKET | eBay
Wow, thanks for that, that is exactly what I want, I did the eBay searches and googled it and found nothing. Its a Ducati part but I can't find it online anywhere, does anyone know if it available from the dealer, otherwise I will give smells a call on Sat.
You do not need to buy anything. Remove the existing bracket and use nylon number plate screws straight into the clips. I also mounted the reflector as I have several police officers in the family so I have to be carefull, number plate not very small either. The plate is 8x6, all letters and numbers are legal correct size, just reduced borders, and a black back.
I've never seen the sense in fitting small numberplates. You may as well have a beacon on your lid flashing 'please pull me over, copper'. If you wanna go fast in this country you have to keep a low profile...
I tend to agree, my plate is borderline, the characters are legal size and they are spaced properly, its just not got the postcode of the manufacturer so its a 'show plate' but otherwise its ok, I am confident it will stand up to any inspection. In my case its only 3 characters across so it gets down to 7"x6.5" which is quite a bit smaller than the 'std' size. however it doesn't fit to the std holder as this need a plate 7" deep which seemed a bit odd as we see much smaller plates on our travels.
