1-peice Riding Suits?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by bradders, Apr 5, 2015.

  1. thinking in the summer I'll commute on bike, but wear trousers and shirt to work so usual armoured jeans and jacket dont suit. Been doing some teasearch but cant find anything to buy in UK which goes over your clothes, doesn't make everythung look creased, is designed to be used like that with right cordura and armour etc

    Any ideas or recommendation?

  2. There's nothing you can wear over your work suit that won't crease it. If it is essential that you look un-creased, your only real option is to forego a protective covering (not recommended) or keep a suit at work that you can change into.

I wear textile jacket and trousers over my work gear but I don't have to dress overly smart in my job. I wear light trousers for work (cragghoppers) and the creases just fall out after a minute or two.

  3. The aerostich stuff is meant to be really good and crease free, but only sell in states and its a grand...Andy from mcn had a set when he came to the multi meet, reckones its step in/out job done

  4. A grand?

No wonder I've never heard of it :D

  5. Could you take trousers and shirts by car one morning then ride the rest of the week then pick up laundry in car at the weekend

  6. Start wearing linen suits. They're meant to be creased :)

  7. Dont fancy the faff. More a 'I'll take the bike today' thing. Alternative is stuff in luggage but always creases. Pus like the idea of regular kit under, out for the day, take off suit and walk around in comfort

  8. If you take luggage
Roll your clothes rather than fold they should stay virtually crease free and put in carrier bag incase it rains
An old army friend tipped the above idea to me and it worked for me
I got more clothes in my rucksac too

  10. Change job. Simples

  11. If getting changed the other end is an option, i used one of these for a little over two years on a daily basis and always had a crease free suit.

Oh, and I promise this link is not a repeat of the other one! ;)

  12. I need those for the creases in my face :)

But seriously, I tend to buy trousers that are supposedly anti crease, they still crease but after a short while at work the creases drop out. and yes I have to be smart at work too.

  14. marks and spencer non iron shirt and trousers are the answer

  15. If wherever you are going has a Gents you can use for 10 minutes, changing clothes is always an option. And you can always carry a suit, shirt, tie, and shoes carefully rolled up in a bag, if you need to look smart for work. That's what I did for many years including going to interviews, meetings with judges, ministers, court hearings, etc. No problem.

  16. I do wonder how those that commute into London and elsewhere, and only use their bike, get by when they need to wear a suit etc. Whenever I have added a shirt to luggage it comes out terrible

  17. You were in trouble a lot :Wideyed:

As for the shirt, I learnt to fold using a piece of tissue paper and a plastic bag from a butler and now travel crease free.
