Riding home from work in the sunshine and noticed the clocks had a touch of condensation inside them. First time that's ever happened. Further down the road and indicated left to find the left indicator light wasn't flashing. Indicators working ok and when I got back home checked everything over. Everything working ok apart from the light on the clocks. Anybody had this before and is there a way to fix it? Beginning to think now I should've looked at BMW and KTMs offerings as well as Ducati. After the dodgy fuel gauge back end of last year (which has been replaced and still not working correctly) I think I'm starting to lose a bit of confidence in it. Cheers, Chris.
I had the condensation show up for the first time on Monday morning (2012 S Touring). Not having problems with any of the lights etc on the dash - yet. I think you'll find there are various threads (here's two: Clocks Misted Up & Dash Warranty Claim) on the subject on here with people getting the odd replacement dash fitted under warranty? Sadly the warranty on mine has now run out................
I appeared to have nuked your post somehow matey, think I've undone it now, no idea what happened there! Many complain of a misted dash, both my 848s had it, my old multi had it, my monster had it...theme coming...multi has the occasioanl late autumn condensation I noticed, no biggie. Think some may have emded up with an issue (bit like the old LCD issue on the first multi) but seem to be unlucky if that happens
condensation in the dash as already said is a Ducati factory fit and not wanting to piss on your strawberries but after owning 5 KTM's for some time you'll find their reliability not as you think. 5 KTM's owned for a total of 9 years and in that time I got one puncture, you see the grass isn't always greener etc etc. be thankful for what you've got at least with a Multiwhatdoyacallit warranty repairs are handled in a timely well practiced manner, mention the word warranty to a KTM dealer and you'll get a vacant stare.
It isn't only Mutleys that get all misty!! 13 plate Beemer 1200 GS. 'Oh no Sir, we've never seen anything like that before!!' Quote from mech droid and sales droid.
I'm surprised it lasted as long as it has this is mine after 5 weeks. Got it replaced under warranty and have had no problems with it since touch wood.
My '10 plate does the ABS warning light flashing with indicators and neutral light thing (worse at night, not really noticeable in day) plus a wee bit of misting when under 10C - but at getting on for 20% of the bikes value for a replacement, I guess it will have to stay that way?
Fortunately for me, mine did it under warranty and was replaced without question. I really think that Ducati should be continuing to stand by known faults on the 2010 Multis - their failure to do so is probably the best possible way to piss off existing loyal owners into being ex-owners, when they've been used as unpaid development riders by the factory.
