  1. its good to know, I wouldn't have known Exige was a forum Trader, and sure that most people like a deal over paying full price

  3. Just follow the steps and you can see if the timing is out or not from the alignment of the cams.
Someone here was complaining about their bike running badly and posted a pic of the cambelts with the covers off and it was immediately obvious to the experts what the problem was, ie one cam being a tooth out. Even I could spot it. Also, you should turn the engine over by hand to check all is well before reassembling and trying to start it up.

  4. what if you have offset cam timing............

  5. Ummm, slightly more power??

  6. Think i paid 78+vat for a pair of ducati belts

  7. RRP for oem belts for my 999 is something like £142.00.
I think Exige is charging £95.00 minus 15% discount for forum members for his ExactFit belts.

  8. 999 Belts are £92.00 less 15% Forum Subscriber Discount + free postage and possibly free Lock Nuts too when I get a bulk source sorted. Best deal and quality in town :) remember other belts are different prices for comparison. Cheapest I have seen for 999/988 are £133.00 with free delivery and no nuts...

  9. I paid £97.08 for a pair of Genuine Ducati 1098 belts, part no. 73740251A a couple of months ago from a UK dealer. (They dont all take the piss).
Personally I cant see the point in taking the risk for a 20 quid saving every 2 years.

Best of luck for the business venture, but I'm out!

  10. Thanks, I am not trying to sway opinions but fact points more towards the 'risk' being with you if anywhere - although I am happy with an assumption we are of an equal quality. For some the saving will be £20, for other belts it will be £50, for some reason Ducati charge less currently for 1098 belt (or the dealers do). And no, all the dealers don't take the piss. As an aftermarket (not pattern) supplier I offer a product which has built up an enviable reputation over the last 7 years in the USA. Products that are manufactured to industry leading specifications due to the diligence of Chris at California Cycleworks (a life long Ducati fan and racer) not made to a 'fit for purpose specification and tolerance' by accountants.

I took the importing on due to my passion for Ducati and from many people expressing an interest for the Exact Fit belts here in the UK and I am happy that I did.
