  1. Does yours have a rubber insert inside the carbon hanger for the slip on (I.e. the carbon bit which wraps around and holds the exhaust in place)

I ask as mine doesn't but the slight movement of the exhaust when running is causing it to rub against the carbon hanger and mar the surface a bit. Need to stick something in to protect it

  2. No mine doesn't. The carbon strap does bear directly on the carbon exhaust can AND there is some slight movement that could cause some wear. Any wear isn't obvious on my can but it could do with something like a thin rubber strap to secure it.

  3. I had the same issue with an Akropovic on a BMW, I put a couple of thin beads of clear silicone sealant on the strap and it stopped the marks on the can, I'm not sure if it gripped it and stopped it moving or prevented the can from marking but it seemed to work pretty well.

Might be worth a try if you don't get any better suggestions.

  4. Good shout. Cheers

  5. Sugru... Google it. Fixes everything

  6. Only tolerates up to 180deg. Can will get hotter than that touring in summer right?

  7. I don't think that would be a problem, not with silicone anyway, some use it as exhaust sealer.
