Fuel Guage Glitch?

  1. Filled up the Multi 1200 S yesterday and as expected the guage showed full. Set off on a ride this afternoon, having covered only 6 miles since the fill up, and was surprised to see the guage showing almost half empty. It stayed like that for the next 10 miles or so before climbing back up to full again. Anyone else had this experience? Does anyone know what causes it?

  2. Did you turn off ignition before filling up?? I think unless bike is complete turned off it can take a while to register new fuel

  3. Mine does it too, not thinking about it anymore. :) I think Ducati have tried several algorithm to try and calculate an average so it doesn't bounce up and down too much. Sometimes mine can take even 20 miles before it shows full. It used to be diffrent before one of the updates to the box.

    In short, just drive. :)

PS btw I have the keyless filler cap, so I always have to turn it off completely.

  4. It's variable - sometimes mine is reset when I switch the bike back on. Other times it takes a few miles.

It could be worse...mine used to take the best part of 60 to 70 miles to come off "empty", by which time you'd used half a tank

  5. Mine does this as well. always has done since new , Sometimes takes a good 20 miles to sort itself out and settle down

  6. When it Finally does settle, I find it pretty good. And the average-meter thing is also pretty accurate.

  7. Looks like its just one of those things then. Thanks for your responses.
