I have recently purchased a used Termi slip on my for my 899 and have it booked in with a dealer this wknd coming to fit it, the question is, how do I know that the USB stick has had the Map uploaded back in to it bar the guy who sold it telling me?
You wont, but your dealer will,on the 899 the dealer has to download/upload the map so if the guy said he had the dealer do it then you should be ok.
Could be a blessing, you would then be able to have a proper custom map for your bike rather than a generic map, always try to take a positive out of a negative ,either way if the map aint on there is going to cost you, good luck.
The generic up map is ok but simmytt is right nothing beats having it on a dyno and custom map built for your specific bike and all its nuances. No two engines are exactly alike. I have had a custom map put on an 848 evo, I have gained an extra 30 mile tank range smoother throttle response and few more ponies to boot, happy days, because of those benefits my 1199 is now booked in for a dyno & custom map. As it increases tank range because it gets the fuelling and air mix spot on it will pay for itself.
Had the bike in today to have the slip on out on and low and behold the map wasn't in the USB :-( had a custom map put on cost a few quid but nothing I could do about it. Contacted the guy who sold me the pipes and apparent map and he is going to go to the dealer who took it off and let them have it, he is also giving me the money back for the cost of the custom map so not all bad
Had a custom map put on the bike today as the original map wasn't there, picking the bike up tomorrow so hopefully will be great
From everything I have heard it should just be a matter of plugging stick in to bike and turning it on then follow prompts on dash. How the dealer screwed that up I don't know unless they just couldn't be bothered.
Had a custom map put on the bike today as the original map wasn't there, picking the no it wasn't in the stick apparently it wasn't redownlaoded from the original bike from the guy I purchased the pipes from, non Ducati related unfortunately so have no legs to stand on
Oh well, to be honest the map is ok but prefer it to be dynoed as more precise. I assume they measured existing output ? Where is it being done and can I ask how much ?

It was £250 + VAT plus an hour or so labour for the dino tests
Moto Rapido did my 848 Evo, I used to get 90 miles from full tank to fuel light coming on now I get 120 miles on same amount of fuel. The whole point of getting it Dynoed is to get fuel and air mix spot on the by product is you get a little more HP out of it. I was so impressed my 1199 is booked in for 2nd of June and yes Wilf over there does the BSB bikes.

It was £250 + VAT plus an hour or s yeah it's around 8 BHP more so nothing to set the world alight but it apparently gives it much better bottom end power, can't wiat to give it some beans tomorrow
I had an 848 Evo in 2011 had it 8 months as a stock bike then went and had a full termi system fitted thats about a 6 hp increase and I bloody well noticed it.

I'd be really interested in seeing the torque curve. That extra low down grunt is the biggest selling point for the 1299 in my opinion. I find how obsessed the bike scene is with HP quite weird, torque curve is much more interesting.
I'll get a print of for you and will post it as soon as I get it, the differences is simply amazing and the bike has been literally transformed. Been out riding today and can't stop smiling. The low end and mid range power and pull is sooooooo much better and the bike seems to have a much smoother low end rather being choppy and a little Lack lustre. The power is now all the way through 1,2,3 and 4th gear. All in all its more forgiving, much faster and much much smoother with seriously good power lower in the gears as well as stronger mid range
