I guess this means they are not going by when you put your deposit down . I think thats going to piss off people (me included) who laid money down last year! What happened to first come first served?
What makes you say so? The factory sells to the dealers who then sells to us. It is obvious there are some dealers who have preordered bikes in the knowledge they will sell them soon enough. If you're down the pecking order, then its something to take up with your dealer. As far as we can ascertain the S models are only now being shipped.
Well if the dealer had told me they didn't have any bikes I could have gone to another dealer and purchased a preordered bike. I've never been in this position before as the bikes I've purchased were in the dealers already. I'll know next time.
I think many dealers are being conservative. They don't say anything until the bike lands. It still takes 2 wks to arrive. There may be registration stuff etc. My dealer probably has some sort of indication and is hinting it will be "soon". So I think the first batches are just now arriving. No one has the S model yet. Not even our non-UK friends have posted here. I can understand the frustration, but that's not to say you have been pushed down the queue.

Cool! So its bang on the ballpark then. I'm 5th on my dealer's list. Good to know they have finally landed. I expect mine would be latest next week. Who knows, maybe even this weekend?!

If you are getting news it's about to turn up then pre-book your first service as your dealer is probably already booked up for 2-3 weeks and there's the bank holiday.
Ducati Aylesbury have a demo S. I've ridden it They are saying they preordered bike and allocated them to customers on a first come order basis. When I did demo ride I was told they had been notified their first bike had been shipped and would arrive in 1-2 weeks. No other bikes notified as shipped. They also said as soon as they know mine is shipped (I'm 4th on list) they will contact me, and should collect couple weeks later. Not heard anything yet
Today I visited Snells of Alton and took a demo ride on their S. It now has 200 miles on the clock. They tell me the one I ordered in January has been built and is on its way. They hope it will be ready for me on approx. 12 May, but not certain.
I also visited DMC Moto Preston Went out on their s multi, it's now got nr 700 miles on it ( thanks Andy & Russ ) was on it most of the day..... WOW WHAT A RUSH that bike is a sports bike with cow horns on If you want to give up smoking then get a multi you don't wanna stop for a fag brew or anything else Only problem now is I want my bike even more. I've not got a bad thing to say about the bike its friggin awesome goes like The rozzers are up your chuff Dealer says generally s models are a month behind orders and we should get are bikes in May Just to add thanks to all at DMC Preston all the chaps there are top blokes as are Manchester too cheers Martin Keep up the good work and...... All being well, yes. If Snells get the bike as planned, I put 600 miles on it sharpish, and they do the first service by 21 May at the latest (which they say is all feasible), then new bike for the Germany trip. Plan B is to go on the old one, as before.
Hi all. first post to say hi and let you know that the ST's are on the way. all being well will be picking mine up on Saturday from Metropolis ordered with enduro pack. This will be my first Ducati. Ordered beginning of December
