Riding home from work a week ago, my bike cut out slowing down for a junction, but started straight away. About 1/2 mile later, it lost power when opening the throttle, and again, as I pulled the clutch in, it cut out. This time, I had to cycle the ignition off/on before it would start again - for the rest of my ride home, I had no problems... Moving on to today, starting took a bit longer than normal, but start it did - after about a minute, the bike cut out but started normally - after about a mile, the bike cut out and wouldn't start, so I ended up pushing her home The MIL light is now on, and I have fault code INJE 12.2. Before I call the dealer (it's due its 2nd year service anyway including belts and valves checking) does anyone have any ideas what might be causing the issue?
Try replacing the injector/coil/pump relay. It is on the right side of the battery box. There are two relays and it is the back one you need to replace.
Thanks Chris, I've got a reply in order, so will get it fitted as soon as it arrives and hopefully, I'll have a working bike again..
I had the very same symptoms as you last year on my 1098. It was exactly what chrisw said. Buy a few as they are cheap as chips. Hope it sorts it out.
Thank you both for the advice - new relay turned up today, fitted it, still none-start, swapped the other relay over, fired up instantly....
