Just went on this web site to look at an insurance web site. 1st reviewer states avoid **** they are terrible! The next reviewer gives them 5 stars. The next one says they are poor 1 star, immediately after the next gives 5 stars. It goes on like this for a page of reviews. The ones who give five stars are all "Verified Reviewers". Suspicous? Cynical, me? Mark
Wouldn't happen to be MCE by any chance? I posted this a couple of years back MCE website customer review score 4.5/5 205 reviews. Independent Insurance review website 1.7/5 201 reviews. Says it all really. The internet is full of complaints about MCE. Makes you wonder why we have the Ombudsman and fair trading policies etc. Maybe Watchdog should check them out.
No, but the point I'm trying to make is that on the review site immediately a bad rating is given, a good one poles apart is posted. And the good ones were done by Verified Reviewers to try and give greater weight to their comments. So how do we trust reviewing web sites, and how prevalent is this?
