1200 To A 821

  1. i dropped the 1200 off at Ducati Leeds today for a service & i went home on the 821
Now I've always had big engine bikes because I thought they were better well how wrong was I , yes it didn't have the same punch as the 1200 but it is more agile quicker to turn in & easyer to chuck in & out of traffic .
If you were looking at getting one try it you'll love it. It p***ed it down all the way home & the bike was still fun to ride.

  2. Yep. My wife went in to buy the 1200 and the dealer convinced her to try the 821 after she tested the 1200 - and she went home with a new 821! Exactly as you say - plenty of punch, but more agile, etc. She also found the engine much smoother (as the 1200 is pretty jerky at lower speed around town, etc.).
    Great bike.

  3. I had one yesterday while my dvt was being serviced.

It felt very fast, certainly didn't need a bigger engine.

  4. Well, I have a different opinion. The 1200s is awesome. Town, country or any other road.
The 821 is a great bike, but that extra oomph and torque of the 1200 is sublime.
    Never regretted my choice!

  5. And if we all had the same opinion the world would be boring :)

  6. And if we all had the same opinion, they would only have to build one bike

The forum would be "interesting" then. Back to tax disc positioning

  7. I tried a 1200s the other day, while they were servicing my Hyper SP. wow what a great bike! I used to have a monster 796 and I've always missed the monster "concept"... now I don't know about the 821 but I would seriously consider moving to the 1200s. also the riding position seems to have improved a lot

  8. Love my Hyper 821 after 12 years on the 748R (still have it) it's been a revelation......so much fun and easy to ride.
