1200 DVT Picking Up My New Bike Tomorrow

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Dirtjunkie, May 27, 2015.

  1. Well less than 24hours to go and I will be the proud owner of a spanking new S Touring in alpine white.
Picking up from Ducati in Croydon then ride to Truro as the wife and kids are there visiting my folks. Ride back to Hertfordshire on Sunday and booked back into Croydon on Tuesday for its first service, my only slight problem will be if my calculations are right she would have done about 680 miles so going be about 80 miles over the recommended 600.

Will post some photos and my initial thoughts as this will be my first Ducati.

  2. Enjoy and take it easy :upyeah:

  3. Lucky man, enjoy, Just been told mine has been built and is thumbing a lift to the UK, may take about 2 weeks. Hey Ho.

  4. Good stuff & looking forward to the photo's.

  5. Be sure to put the panniers on and off a couple of times before you depart from the dealer's. If the hooks are going to break off, better for it to be then and there.

  6. Nothing like picking up a new bike..when it's a good one the man and machine ( or woman and machine:Happy:) bond begins and soon you become one...priceless :upyeah:..

    Enjoy!

  7. Poor show from Ducati this about the panniers, they had to recall the earlier 2010 panniers for additional clasps to be fitted, now it appears they need to recall the 2015 panniers for some kind of bracket modification! [emoji107]

  8. oh you lucky fella. Best of British and let us know your thoughts :upyeah:

  9. I not going to be very happy if the panniers clips break, that's for sure!!

I'm buying a Ducati not some Chinese piece of sh.t....

  10. No problems fitting and taking off mine. There's a slight trick to it. Use the handles for a start.

  11. Maybe you should put together a demo on YouTube, sounds like you will get plenty of hits, judging by all the gripes so far? o_O

  12. Your dealer should show you.

  13. Got to agree with @zakaraz on this one. The dealer should but ............not all are as helpful (or knowledgeable as others) so I've fixed the quote:

    :upyeah:

  14. I saw you in the showroom i was on my 2014 multi asking about a test ride I talked to you about my shabby looking kit ...let me know if it's worth changing mine for ..enjoy

  15. You referring to me, Paul; or Mark?

  16. Got the nod from my dealer today. I can collect my bike on Saturday. It's been a wait but one I hope will be worthwhile :upyeah:. My very first Ducati :). If all goes to plan I'll deliver my thoughts over the weekend.

  17. sorry the Thread starter the geezer picking up his new bike i saw him

  18. Enjoy the new bike buzz!

  19. Just spoke to dealer - they have 3 sets of broken panniers and Ducati are aware of the problem. I had no problems with mine at the dealers or at home - but broke the hook taking them off in Europe.

  20. The price of these bloody things you would think they would pack themselves and then put themselves on the bike! Very poor imo for a new Ducati model and for the supplier to Ducati (Givi?). Who tests these things before they come to market? Or do they stand around, fag in gob saying "yer that should work" :Meh:
