Cleaning Rubber Hoses?

Discussion in 'Streetfighter' started by nathdore, May 26, 2015.

  1. Hi just a quick question. Does anyone know the best way to clean the rubber hoses that connect the radiator to the water pump? Mine have turned a misty grey colour and now spoil the look of my bike.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. Get a can of Halfords wet-look tyre dressing. Spray some onto the hoses. Then rub it off carefully with a clean rag. The rubber hoses will look OK - for now. Repeat as necessary.

  3. I used Vulcanet wipes to clean mine (or baby wipes) then GT85 to dress.

  5. Thanks for the replies guys, i'll check out some of those products.

  6. Glycerol, swissol sell it under the guise of "seal feed" get it from a chemist and save paying for marketing hype.

  7. I wipe over with ACF50 applied sparingly on a cloth. I've found this better than specific trim and plastic cleaner and it lasts until the next wash.

  8. Thanks for reminding me. Need to get some of that for visor and pinlock seals.
