Hi, Just joined, recently acquired an ST4 1999, with (I think) a genuine 7500 miles.... Very little in the way or servicing though so I'm doing the valve clearance check at the moment.... and looking for data to substantiate (or refute) the weird numbers I've got for the closer specs in the ducati manual... So, Hello Also, I'm a returning, born again motorcyclist... not really had a road bike since I did a bit of despatch riding in the mid 1980s!! faffed about a little bit on the track in the meanwhile but not much to speak of. Recon I'm old and slow enough to enjoy gentlemanly touring now, hence the recent purchase.
Cheers I got a handle on the valve clearance concern, good news is that they're all ok, if a bit on the sloppy side. Still it'll do for starters. Just need to discover if I have to replace all the gaskets or whether I can risk a cheapskate re-use approach for inlet manifold/rocker cover/ and one off "central cover gasket" No doubt I can find an answer lurking in a techy forum somewhere, but no luck yet!
