  1. Good evening... my first post... well actually i did say hi in the newbie bit.

Anywayyy, after a near fatal bike accident on my Aprilia RSV4 Factory a couple of months ago i'm ready to step into Ducati territory for the first time.

I've been offered a near mint 2012 848 EVO CORSE SE with full system Termignoni's and 2 fresh supercorsa's and chain, + full Ducati service history, 10,000 miles, £8500

is this a good deal? what should i be looking for?

i'm thinking the 848 would be perfect for this seasons track days and next year when i'm fully fit i'll go Panigale 1199, thoughts?

  2. would feel very under powered i would have thought to an rsv mate, id go for a 1098s, less money faster and better suspension, or depending on budget 1199 are coming down in price now.

  3. Looks like a good deal to me :)

  4. well, i've only just had surgery and been paid out for the bike 9K so the 848 evo corse SE would be my injury toy, until i get my personal injury payout i'll go for the panigale 1199.

  5. I had one. It's a great bike for the road :upyeah:

  6. Hi Rob

Saw your injury posts on Facebook. Looked nasty but at least your on the mend.

I can vouch for the 848 as a great bike. Had min over 5 years now after many litre bikes. Has more than enough grunt for me and I still love it. It has been super reliable too (touches wood.)

  7. Hi Rob. I just looked on Facebook too. Glad you are on the mend.

We have mutual friends. Neil Soni and Jamie Carey. Small world.

  8. anyone use mirror blanking plates? but not R&G which are the nicest ones?

  9. I asked that yesterday to Pagey in the Superbike gallery. Don't like the branding on the R&G ones.

  10. yeah, was a bad one, healing up now...sort of :-/

  11. You know it makes sense ;)

  12. I'm going from an 848 to an RSV4...
    just saying...

  14. How about a Daytona 675R.

  15. Got some Oberon blanking plates on mine, with a bar end mirror indicators are the flexi led stick on type from the states

  16. I had an 848 Evo in 2011 awesome bike, traded in when the 899 came out I shouldn't have bothered, only after a year I ditched the 899 for the 1199s really nice bike and bloody quick, I also now have an 848 SE corse with the ally tank and in all honesty I have more fun on that, both bikes are kitted out with full termi system and custom maps on the ECU.
The Evo is a lot more useable on the road in my humble opinion :)

  17. out of interest, i'm not sure whether to get the 848 evo corse se for this season then get the 1199s or 1299s next year. what differences did you find between the 899 and 848?

  18. Don't know where to start really the differences are very subtle.
The forks are slightly further apart and the bars higher on the 899, also it feels like you are sitting on the bike rather than in it, I prefer the riding position on the 848 Evo.
The 899 rides very nice but its a little to smooth to for my liking not as punchy as the 848. The 899 has Traction control, ABS and a quick shifter. My old 2011 848 evo had none of these, however my 848 Corse SE has the QS and the TC, but no ABS and I don't miss it. The brakes feel better on the 848, the 899 felt spongy but I have been told thats because of the way ABS works and even when it was turned off they never felt as positive as the Evo.
I prefer the handling on the 848 it feels like it turns in better and more responsive. Other than can't think what else to tell you really unless you have something specific you would like to ask ?
A lot of people will disagree but I still say the 848 Evo is actually quicker and gruntier than the 899.
