I know, I know but bear with me..... Got a Twin spark and looked at the various ways of killing the damn thing but just wanted to ask if I remove the flapper inside the exhaust BUT keep the servo cabled up to the bike, will that do the job. Know at some point the servo may jam but that's a quick clean and lube fix, it just means that I'll always have power rather than hitting the 7000 limiter :Meh: Doesn't bother keeping it lubed too much BUT really peevs me on a long ride that it starts playing up, so will this fix work? Not looking to get a de-cat/exhaust, due to being a night worker it's fine as it sounds. Thanks
3 low cost solutions, disable the valve in the ECU, have the cable pull against a spring or take the cable off and attach a weight directly to the electric motor output shaft like the one you get in the LV decat pipework. Andy
JustFind a way to keep the exhaust valve open (probably wired), THEN CUT THE CABLE TO THE SERVO. It will report a seized valve, but not one that is always open (fully?). Hooray for common sense. The ECU on a twin spark will not load any default maps nor give the rider warning. I don't know this because I'm some god or Ducati Genius... Note you do not need to buy any device to fool the ECU, as it doesn't care. Other ecu mods including and ecu remap still require you to keep the valve forced open at all times. I know this 'cause it's what Snells did to mine on a warranty repair! I eventually discovered this when upgrading to a full Termis...and found the "Warranty Repair" method.... hence my comments on service that upset a very verbal (LOADS OF NOISE, but not VERY MUCH USEFUL content) member on here, who has friends that "work" there. Just passing on the love and useful information.
Same question from me Would luv to get ride of that flipping exhaust valve The parameter change to the ECU sounds a like a more "elegant" solution With respect to Aircon and jamming the valve open There is heaps of chat about replacing the link pipe and headers and ECU set up etc, etc. it all seems to point towards getting the full Termi set up even with that long torpedo end can Hmmmm
I have a Duc-EE unit from eBay. Have yet to fit it but it plugs into the socket you remove the servo from. Fools the bike into thinking it's still there.
