Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Chocky, Jun 12, 2015.

  1. just brought bike back from mot and belt change (2011 848 evo)
And I know it was warm ,only moving in slow traffic the temp gauge normally around
70 to 80 but it went up to 105 degrees then I switched off at traffic lights
Is this normal ? How hot do they get?
    Help please

  2. Normal. Fans will then kick in.

  3. Sorry a bit late with a reply thanks
So if it does overheat what's the worst that can happen?

  4. You cook your nuts. Enjoy

  5. Engine expires. Get it sorted!

  6. Well what is the max temp before you start to worry and turn engine off
What temp do the fans normaly come on at?

  7. The temp fluctuates, have to say I've not noticed mine getting that high.

    Where is the temp sensor?

  8. No idea need to have a good look
Only seemed quite warm inbetwen the legs ohh
    But it's a factory bike

  9. I can only imagine it will wet its self.

  10. No idea only trying to get some clarity on the problem
If it is even a problem?

  11. Factory?

  12. Well ok as it came out of the showroom

  13. Fluids OK, fans work, oil OK, sounds OK?

  14. I'll look over the lot
Only it's frightening when you see 100' on the clocks

  15. In my own experience, they don't like to sit still. Not saying they can't cope, but they most definitely like to move. I wouldn't sit too long with it running. Its a Ducati, ride it.

  16. It's normal. So long as the fan kicks in and drops below 100, I wouldn't worry. Keep your eye on the coolant level though.

  17. Do they boil?

  18. Only if your pour some sugar in.

  19. I never seen the 100, I'm a scrambler beardy type.
