1200 Speedo / Abs Not Working!!

  1. Hi All.
    (2010 1200S ABS)
Need some help here! Just been to the TT (first time and was brilliant by the way !). Anyway, half way up the M6, ABS light comes on and Speedo stops working and reverts to 0mph (cue sat nav on all holiday!)
All other instrument functions work apart from anything to do with speed, ie, range ect in the round window.
DTC appears to be unaffected. No error messages.

Now home I have looked at the front ABS sensor, cleaned it up, gapped it, looked for splits in the cable ect, all appear ok.

I guess my questions are what to do next? Do both the front and rear sensors measure speed, is it just the front or the rear? I've also googled and came up with the 'hall effect' sensor?? Is this separate and if so where is it and should I check it?

    Any help would be brilliant.

    Thanks all.

  2. Actually it's just the rear sensor that operates the speedo.

  3. Just the rear sensor is used for speed measurements, i had the front abs fault caused by the stupid way the wires are routed (i dare say its proberly not the only poorly routed wire) the abs sensors them selfs are pretty solid, so id have a look at where the abs cable connects to the loom
