Hiya Bought a 2010 1200 MTS last Saturday, now looking at cheap zorst options. Am thinking cat replacement, Danmoto in the states do one for just under 160 quid delivered, is the Leo Vince worth 200 more than that? Quality and after sales wil be better here, obviously... 2nd - easy enough to fit? I am reasonably handy with spanners etc and don't mind lying on the garage floor... 3rd - ECU tune up needed? If so does it have to be from a Duke dealer? Thanks Nick
There are a myriad of options, I got a Quat D system 2nd hand on the forum but the big difference was a rolling road tune. Expensive but well worth the money, transformed the bike (CJS be Bristol) All that said, many members have replaced the system and let the ecu work it out without too many problems. The termi system comes with a replacement ecu with required map changes but again, not cheap
Dude....the ECU custom remap from Chris at CJS Racing....is sublime.....well worth the money. Increased my 2010 by 1 & 1/2 dozen ponies and as smooth as a most Ducati riders skulls.
For what it's worth,I've a Mivv decat,Acrapovic slip-on(looks and sounds brilliant)and had it breathed on by CJS. It's the best bike I've ever owned, when it hasn't been in the dealers workshop. I just wonder how the DVT can better it.
Jpc, I'm waiting to hear how the DVT compares to a CJS fettled single spark. Mine is just perfick. Anyone know??
Once you've ridden a Multi with a decat and the ECU reprogrammed by CJS it's gets very difficult to justify chopping it in for a DVT. The DVT's low down smoothness is less impressive when you've already achieved that to a great extent with a well fettled Multi. Not only that but my single spark has still retained that monster mid range and Ducati character where the DVT seems to be a bit soulless and Honda like in comparison. Admittedly, I've only had a brief ride on a DVT so when I get round to a proper test its other qualities may grow on me but for the moment my money is staying in my pocket.
The Danmoto one is cheap for a reason, i would avoid it. I've got one and its rusty, which is quite some going for whats claimed as stainless. As soon as I get some cash I'm getting rid of it for the LV
The most likely scenario will be that you shear off one, two or all three horizontal cylinder head exhaust manifold studs. Something a number of people have done carrying out this mod. You need to take care and do your preparation. Andy
Well if you can wait for a bit longer I will have a 1 year old Termi full system for sale at £600. I'm changing from my 2010 multi to the DVT soon, just doing one last trip to Italy this month first. it's in very good condition although i have taken on that stupid center stand bracket. unfortunately i can't sell it for less as it's going to cost me most of that to swap it back to my standard pipes before I sell it.
