Ducati 900sl Engine Mounting Bolts 1996 Model

  1. Am about to install the engine into the frame.

    I have 2x M10 allen head long bolts, the aft bolt threads into the frame. The forward bolt has a locknut.

    Are these bolt fitted WITH or WITHOUT washers???:confused::confused::confused:

  2. No washers on either bolt at the hex end and no washer on the locking nut as that ought to have a serated surface on it.

    The reference material I have viewed, Ducati IPC, old scanned version as well as Stein Dinse shows no washers at all.

    1X threaded bolt into frame.
    1X threaded bolt with lock nut.

    39-44 Nm torque, no Loctite.

  4. My rear frame/engine bolt had a mystifying small plastic coin shaped object on top of the thread under the rubber grommet. No idea why or if it was original.
