Ive been told that the seat is factory set in the low position when new, has anyone tried to alter it yet. Is it easy to do, how long does it take to amend.
There is a removable tray (I can't think of what else to call it) under the seat for the high position. To lower the seat you just remove the seat, take the tray off and replace the seat.
You need to remove skirt from pillion seat. And add two different skirts and one block to the riders seat. About 5-10 mins.
It's easily done, and the process is described in the manual - don't worry, it's not as complicated as the manual makes it look. To be fair to Ducati, I'm not sure how I'd describe it any better than they did. You just need to have the risers/spacers/thingies that came with the bike, plus somewhere to put the riser under the front of the pillion seat, which isn't needed when the rider's seat is raised. I did it in the dealer's lot before driving off, and can confirm that it's a 5-minute job. One catch: it requires an allen key that is not included in the bike's toolkit. Fortunately, Motortoer are happy to lend tools for things like this.
Weird....I thought it was set to its highest position in the factory, and that's also what the manual states. Is the manual wrong? I hope so, as I could really do with bumping it up a bit higher.
Mine came set in the low position see the yellow circles and a 5 minute job to put it in the high position see the red circles.
Weird, yes, but the general experience seems to be that the seats are lowered by the time they get to the buyer. With a 34" leg, I'd like it to be higher again, and will probably raise the effective height by adding the traditional touring-bike accessory of a sheepskin It's fairly easy to tell: if the seat's been raised, there's a visible black stripe between the bodywork and the seat.
