Mallory Bike Bonanza July 10-12

  1. I gather that the Festival of 1,000 bikes won't be going ahead in 2015 but Mallory have this planned instead. Did anyone here go last year? How was it?

    I've just bought weekend tickets for MrsH and I including Stavros' MAD show on the Friday night which is my Birthday. We have got a room at the Kirby House hotel right next to the circuit :)

  6. The 1000 bike festival didn't go ahead last year because of Mallory's financial/noise complaint legal battle - the previous people that ran the site seemed to pretty much ignore the noise limits and how many events they could run a year .
    I think the local council eventually lost patience .
    The circuit is under new owners/tenants - Stuart Higgs I think from B S B .
    The old festival was run by the Vintage M C C , and very good it was to .
    Up until last year I did it for the previous 4 or 5 , bike on track Sat then the main event Sunday . I used to go up and muck in with the Bennelli owners club as a mate was a member , he even let me take his 750 6 on track twice .
    If this event is as good as the old one it will be good .

  7. I went yesterday and it was a good day out - it was nice seeing the TZs in particular, plus all the varied kinds of bikes belonging to joe public. We had to come home early yesterday rather than stay for today as well, but in honesty unless you had your bike on track for a few sessions on day 1 I don't think there is enough to maintain interest for a full weekend as a casual visitor. It could be a good laugh to do as a camping weekend with a few mates though :)

  8. Dave you are right , we had a few good years before the Mallory management fiasco .
    Had a few sessions on 999s and my Daytona plus bonus of Bennelli 6 .
    Fire works and stunt shows have been good in the past as well .
