Interested in the rear sets of you could confirm mounting point width on hole centers please.... Wanted for my 998 and not sure if they're the same
Will get back to you soon with the rear sets. The parts are stored at my mother in laws, will go past tomorrow evening and measure and let you know.
Possibly interested in the rear sets for a 749. What make are they? Could you post some pics? What condition is the clutch? What is included - basket, hub, balls, plates, pressure plate, nut?
Paulaldridge has shown interest in the rearsets first so should let him have first refusal. The clutch has wear marks on the ramps etc however it was working fine on my bike before sale. Everything is there to bolt on, clutch plates and all. Pictures to follow
Looking closely at the wear mark it almost appears like the ball has slipped out and there has been contact between the inner hub ramp and the base plate ramp? It might just be the photo. I have a 916 and the rear sets are a different shape. The hole centres may be the same though but the peg position would be different due to the geometry of the mounting bracket.
Slightly different - I had some 998 rear-sets wrongly advertised for a 999, they didn't fit my 999 but of course fit my 998 but I do have a 999 with 998 rear-set centres too :Wideyed:
Yes I think at some stage it did I brought the clutch as is, I used this on my track bike and after every few days or a euro trip I would remove and grease the ball bearings etc. I have this picture shows some of the damage the balls did. But as mentioned it did work fine.
I am concerned that the gouging and deformation of the ramps may cause the balls to get stuck. If this happened during an aggressive down change on track then you would be left with no clutch at all which could be most worrying if entering, say, Paddock Hill Bend at BH...
Yeah I know what u mean. It looks worse as is no clean either but as mentioned it worked fine for me and I was changing down gears and no issues.
