I know it's not a DVT thread but I thought I'd give you the heads up on a discounted Givi tank bag. Just in case any one is looking for one. I got it from here and although delivery was a bit longer than I'd of liked, I think it's a handy piece of kit. I'm hoping it will save my thumbing time when I have to us the toll motorways in Europe, last year they got so wet I couldn't get them in the toll machine, Bag GIVI 3D603 TANKLOCK ยท Motocard United Kingdom There is a clear water proof window in the top for a phone but I haven taken off the little bag that's Velcro'd on.
I got that with the DVT and wasnt expecting much. I toyed with a SW Motech Engage having had one previously but I really do like the Givi especially using the USB charger system which charges the phone in the go. Overall the Givi does everything I want, a real surprise
The internal USB charger, with feeds for a phone and a satnav, is really handy. The box is only big enough for a few small items, not waterproofs. Without the USB (as per this advert) it would not be so useful. And it is not at all secure - not lockable and just takes one second to remove.
It's all true, but I find hat it's so easy to remove I just take it with me if I am only off the bike for a few minutes perhaps fuelling up of something similar. I have exactly the one in the post above and don't use it all the time but it is handy touring for my wallet, phone and toll cards etc. I also carry a USB power cell and use that for a phone charge on the go if I need it.
[QUOTE And it is not at all secure - not lockable and just takes one second to remove.[/QUOTE] Not many tankbags are secure and I always take mine with me rather than leave it on the bike
I use the next size up XS307, it's big enough for work, shirt, spare gloves etc, and ideal size when touring. I cut the stupid straps off though, the bag is secure enough without them.
heads up, I,m picking my DVT up on the 13th which comes with the urban pack, I don't want the tank bag (Ducati logo, multi usb charger etc. you can't yet buy these separately so a golden opportunity to grab one. I will sell it for the cost difference between the urban kit and the top box on its own which will be cheaper then when they start selling them separately. Send an email if interested, in the states at the moment so might not get an instant reply.
There is no listing for a 2015 Multi for the tank lock ring, they have the 2010 to 14 listed (BF11) any know if this will fit the DVT?
Yes, the pre-DVT fuel cap definitely fits the DVT (because I actually have one fitted) so the tank bag mounting ring must also fit.
I fitted the tank ring and tank bag from the 2015 Urban Pack on my 2013 bike, until I moved it to my new bike. So it works the other way around.
Had the bigger one on mts for a year, great bit of kit, just about holds weeks worth of wife's smelliest,
So you know, if you order it from Motocard, it will show as 'ready to ship' for at least a week even though it will have been shipped.
