Does anyone have an idea where to get a new set of downpipes for 1995 750ss and if so how much will they cost?
Thanks for replying,I've got a new pair of slip on silencers but the originals haven't been off for 20 yrs and have seized on the downpipes,I'm fearing the worst and wondered where I could source replacements?
The downpipes or headers are low quality stainless steel............................get the old cans off and polish the headers up or coat them with VHT.....
The original cans were stuck on mine two when I changed them. Lots of wiggles and penetrating oil and they did come eventually!!
Yep Thanks Lumbux, tried all that and blow torch but couldn't shift it, have put the bike into my friendly local mechanic who will probably get downpipes and silencers into a vice and apply brute force, will hopefully spray the downpipes with VHT during the winter period!
No joy yet in getting these off, will probably leave it until the end of September, don't want to cause any damage to downpipe securing bolts/cylinder head during the riding season!
