I went to see Chris at CJS RACING Ducati Cylinder Heads Tuning Gas Flow Dyno ECU Custom Mapping Bristol Bath to ask about improving my fuelling at low speed. He explained about the issues involved (some beyond me!) and he eliminated the O2 sensors and also reset the temperature the fan comes on to be lower. I have now ridden with this for 3000 miles on all kinds of riding and all is good. The bike is much happier below 3000rpm and generally happy pulling down to around 2000rpm. Previously my bike also behaved worse in hot weather at low speed - this has gone. In Spain this year, when it was hot the fans came on earlier and I did not see the temperature climbing as much as last year. This felt much better and in fact I stopped noticing the temperature gauge! Nice guy, good service!
I'm very interested in getting this done and have followed some of Chris' comments on a few forums. The only thing that is stopping me is the bike is still well within warranty and I don't want to do something that the dealer may use as a reason not to honour the warranty further down the line when something inevitably goes wrong. Did Chris say much about this being reversible and effect on warranty? I assume a main dealer can tell it has been hacked? What did it cost?
Chris I am in Australia, and am looking to get my ECU re flashed. There seems to be a few that recommend the Rexxa , do you have any comments on this flash . Thanks
Chris I am interested in this whan my warranty expires shortly, is this flash a plug in and go from you (which is attractive to me) rather than a full day dyno run and custome mapping? If it is the former, please can you send me a PM and let me know the cost. Thanks G.
It wouldnt be professional of me to comment on somone elses work. Our flash and custom tuning is probably the most complex. We solved the speed density and alpha trim per gear saga , o2 , ex valve and it adresses a lot more. rev limits , fly by wire progression , ignition timing is all covered too. If your in AUS ask brad black to flash the ecu for you . I would provide him with one of our files
Thanks Chris, I take it that you write your own maps using the Rexxa system. I'll look Brad up, he is in Victoria, a ways away from me , but I'm heading down for the MotoGP so might suit. The issues you mentioned are all my issues, Fly by wire progression stinks .
Got it , I'll call Brad and see what the arrangement could be. Bike goes in for major service next week , last trip to the dealer under warranty.
Chris, MTS 1200 with QD exhaust, K&N filter. Do you have a flash map for that? You've previously mapped it for Termi and Mivv Decat.
For the mts i have maps made here for all exhaust types you can think of. There will be a list on the website soon
I was concerned about the warranty so bought a second hand ecu which Chris CJS flashed during the dyno tune! I can now if need be revert back to the original! Like when selling the bike! Perfectly happy with the bike now! Ps took the bike for its 7000 mile service and the dealer opened the airscrews, as they couldn't believe they were fully in! Chris did warn me about this, so I simply closed them off again and all was well!
