A bit left field but I always use simpson..... The Snell 2010 Carbon Devil Ray Helmet from Team Simpson I had one of these til it hit the ground. ( a couple of cartwheels over the top of a car ended its life ) but, the impact was a "straight down" kind of impact - ie not sliding along the road....it held up really well and, is, still usable as a helmet but only in an emergency....
Let us know how you get on. Compared to the usual Spanish and German online vendors, these guys have some fantastic prices but are very iffy when it comes to communication and order fulfillment.
HJC Carbon, lids direct if i remember correctly, down from 400 to 180, nice and light and looks good too, i think they still have some left.
I bought a Bell Star Carbon a couple of weeks back when I was in the USA, for a bargain £250. I also got the photochromatic visor for it which is absolutely superb. The helmet itself isn't as light as some other carbon ones, but is very comfy and very well ventilated. Build quality is excellent. I like it a lot.
Went for a shark evoline3 carbon in red &black recently as a open-face touring helmet. Quite pleased although it is heavy & noisy
