  1. Hi all having finally taken delivery of my new 1200 s that I ordered in January may I share a few observations , I collected yesterday from Ducati Leeds, who I would like to commend for their excellent service having only recieved the bike on Thursday and speedily made ready for my eager hands first thing Saturday. On completion of hand over I immediately set out for a run up to the lakes then across to hart side then back down Hawes etc.during the run I tested the bike on all types of going and I have to say the bike was a joy in what ever circumstance was thrown at it, the 13 pikes I traded was an excellent piece of kit, but the new one just eclipsed it in every way, engine fantastic smooth (turbine like) brakes including rear 100% now ,Ergos excellent, Sky hook more refined, new colour dash ace, addition of cruise useful, fixture n fit plus finish excellent so all in all on completion of 200 miles I couldn't have been happier, been out tonight so new headlamps tested and guess what all good again. To some up I am very pleased with the whole experience,as I have been with my previous two multi but this one takes things to a new level, I'm glad to see minor issues such as pipes rubbing on fork legs etc have been addressed and am sure any electronic updates will be patched as development moves forward. Lastly one mod I will attend to over winter is have exhaust system heat treated black n remove the after thought centre stand rubber mounting bracket as I only use a side stand.

  2. Does it steer any quicker than the 2013 bike?

  3. What treatment are you referring too with the exhaust & please quote the price you got charged.

  4. I,ve judged clocked up the first 500 miles on mine, find it so much better than my previous skyhook model, this is just my opinion as I prefer the manual suspension, handles and turns quicker and feels more responsive although still stuck at 6k revs run in period. I made sure all the software/ firmware updates were done and can report that I,ve had none of the reported issues, ie the trip resetting ( affects TFT screen only??) and also pulls like a train in second at 3k so not had that problem. Also very impressed with the new scorpion tyres, so much better than the previous ones giving better feedback in both the wet and dry and warm up quickly, all told very happy I took the plunge and got the DVT.

  5. Still waiting for mine, you bunch of b******s:mad:

  6. Duke, regarding the steering question, I think the the DVT tips in slightly quicker, but during the turn if the road surface is rough the second generation skyhook copes much better than the previous model, no getting out of shape just very confidence inspiring. Regarding the exhaust black hi heat coating, i am making enquiries with a company I deal with that provides, high heat coatings for exhausts used on heavy industrial engines , I will add a thread once research as to suitability is established .
