Hi Everybody just joined up. Not got my new bike yet, in the processes of looking to buy one and Ive seen a few I like. It the Strada for me but I don't know much about Ducati's so I'm looking through reviews, youtubing, sale ads and now the forum. Ive had a few bike in my time. Ducati has always been that bit to far for me to spend but I've sold my two other bikes W650 & NC700x so this is likely to be my last chance to experience one. Better late than never. Not got much to spend around 9 - 10k and it's likely to be bought of the Bike sites and the ones I like most are all miles away. So just pop over to see them ain't that easy, so a lot is based on description, photos and speaking with the seller. So I'm hoping to pick a good one. Anybody with so helpful advice on what to look out for. Am all ears. It's likely to be 2012 -2013 sports tourer. Good amount of toys. Ive a Ducati dealer pretty close by so that could be a help for me. Thanks Gooose
I'll need to look up what skyhook is and I am planing to buy private. Saw something this morning which I'm just about to call the seller about. Said " 2nd generation twin spark" again not sure of this.
Yep that's the bike...put all your thoughts on here. The hivemind is pretty good. Twin spark is the 2nd generation 1200 multistrada and all but the basic model has skyhook suspension (the same as the current 3rd generation). You need Full Ducati service history. The expensive services are at 15 and 30k miles (at least £850+vat). Known issues are Crap rear brake Glow on all speedo idiot lights right hand side, when one is fully lit. Poor fuel gauge reading (new sender required). Others will add things to look for. Where are you? Perhaps a kind soul who alread owns one may guide you?
Just spoke with a seller and me some answers to the servicing & costs, explained the 2nd gen and twins park along with Skyhook and I like the look and discription of his bike. He's about to receive his brand new one shortly.
