I’ve just fitted a Mivv GP & de-cat. However, there’s no clearance between the end can & the pannier support bracket. In fact, the end can presses up against the bracket so much that it pushes it out of alignment to such an extent that I can’t put the pannier on the bike. I’ve tried slackening off all the fittings to see if I can align it better but without success. I’ve also thought about mounting the exhaust bracket on the inside of the footrest hanger using longer screws but the rear brake reservoir gets in the way. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, any solutions (other than having a new bracket made)?
I have the mivv suono and the end can hanger went on the inside of the rear foot hanger ( the original bolts are long enough to take the extra thickness of the exhaust hanger). Not sure if that's any use you though...
John, thanks for the input, which was very helpful. Knowing that you’d had no trouble with the Suono got me searching for the Suono’s fitting instructions, which are the same as those for the GP. So, if yours fitted ok, why wouldn’t mine? And fortunately I’ve now identified the problem. On the kerb-side of the bike the de-cat pipe attaches to the frame using the original support, which has a washer insert. I’d also put another washer on the bolt before fitting the locknut. And by removing both of these washers and moving the pipework kerb-side by a couple of millimetres a gap between the end can & the pannier support has been created. The pannier itself now fits as well. It was a bit of a struggle but at least I now know that it goes on ok. Thanks again.
