1200 Fueling And Possible De-cat

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by MotoNik, Aug 12, 2015.

  1. Yes it does and I found it fine when I ran it. It's a danmoto one i bought from another member

  2. Hi, I have no problems pulling away from tick over solo and about 18- 2000 two up, cjs tuned miv decat and pipe. 13 plate gt

  3. Still interested in this. Do you happen to know what the diameter of the outlet is? I'm interested in looking around to see if it might be possible to pick up a silencer for it - something along the lines of the longer aluminium/titanium Termi. I'm just thinking there may be non-Multistrada pipes out there that would work just fine.

    cheers,

    Nik

  4. Where are you based fella? I struggle with hassle of posting and shit...

I saw the same on eBay last night. I'll post a link

  5. I'm in Plymouth, Devon. But often up and about in different parts of the country.

  6. I work in Bristol, live around Gloucester, and am happy to meet up somewhere at the weekends esp if it means I Get to ride my bike there

  7. On the subject of decats; I have a brand new boxed up Leo Vince decat pipe that I was going to fit and replace my MIVV as I believed it would be slightly quieter. Instead of all the hassle with changing, I bought some custom made ear plugs and just love the proper Ducati sound.

Anyway, if anyone wants a brand new Leo Vince, send me a pm. They are £315+postage on Ebay but I would accept about £225.

Leo Vince decat is the way to go IMHO. Has an in line baffle, good quality and fits straight on to the header pipes. This in itself will cure much of the low down roughness and increase midrange. Follow it up with a visit to CJS for a remap and the bike will be as smooth as silk. Only downside is that you may struggle to find a Leo Vince end can as I understand they stopped making them for some reason.

  9. I have bought a Danmoto, not fitted yet, just waiting for a silencer to arrive, have ordered a universal stubby from China (my real name is tight git....) the outlet is 52mm. Will be looking at exhaust servo eliminator of some kind, hopefully all of this will cure the low down power issues. My previous bike was a Harley, so yes I do like my bikes to pull from as few revs as possible. It's taken me several hundred miles to get used to not asking the MS to pull from too low revs, but woild still like it to ride a bit easier in town. Will let you know if it needs a remap.

edit - meant to say that if I could have got a LV decat for 225 that's what I would have bought...

  10. My 2013 had this stumble at low revs in Urban though Touring and Sport were fine. I loaded the Touring engine into the Urban setting and have forgotten about it.

  11. When I fitted Dan Moto decat I simply put a spring on the valve cable and no issues at all. Cost me a cable tie and a small spring I had laying around

  12. MotoNik, I do agree with you, <2000 rpm the motor has a flat spot, or as iainhwilson says it stumbles.
yes of course one could slide the clutch and give a bit more gas. Its really only noticeable when getting away from standstill.
By comparison I rode my mates KTM 1290 Duke and it silky smooth.
Could the fact that the bike gets serviced in Johannesburg which is 1800m above sea level and I live on the cost make this situation worse!!??
