Had a 14 tooth sprocket fitted today at ducati Manchester only because I couldn't budge the nut. 1st service as well, when they brought the bike out it had a new gold chain on. When questioned why, they said they had to spilt the chain to fit the sprocket. Result was they didn't have a new split link for the old chain so had to fit new gold one at no cost to me. Personally i think it a result. Thanks Ducati Manchester for the great service.
@duceri IT IS a D.I.D !!!! And I think it could me mine!!! When did you take it up? Took mine for 1st service just last week Friday 14th and they were fitting my black sprocket and carrier that was on my 2013 that they took in part ex. I questioned about the "gold chain" and they told me it wouldn't fit as the front sprocket was different even though the rear was the same 40 tooth. They put me the black sprocket on and red carrier along with the original chain on dvt. Tried giving me the original sprocket and carrier that came off the 2013 ... er ...no I said ... want the one off my new dvt bike ...looks like he's put that on your old one he said...don't worry I'll get you a new one and send in the post.
According to gearingcommader (they only have 2010 tho) you'll likely lose 11mph off the top end. Although you'd do well to hit 160 in standard trim At 6745 revs its 84mph vs 90 std
Hmm I thought it was revving less at 90 as standard, 250 RPM does not sound a lot tbh in 6th. to I assume a lot more fun in lower gears etc. Cant imagine it would make a lot of difference in fuel either with high speed cruising?
So did you find a solution to preventing beard dandruff then? *note to self, make sure you close all your tabs before screen shooting a web page.
Even if you change the gearing wont the electronics still limit the power to the rear tyre if the ECU feels its the right thing to do?
What a fantastic mod. Wasn't a problem to fit just a little fiddly to get the chain over old sprocket, once that was out the way it was a breeze. I strongly recommend it..
Daft question, is it a Renthal sprocket as I have seen the part number on B&C Express site as 484--530-14P
Good result for you Shame they don't read this forum at DMC, they should know you don't need to split the chain to fit the 14t sprocket
