  7. 204 (wet bike) and 207 (dry bike) RWBHP, that's what my mates K8's are putting out. Again Yoshi bling all over the engine which were hand built by Doug Randell, what he doesn't know about Suzuki engines isn't worth knowing.

  8. Bloody hell, that must be some serious epic ride.

  9. Was funny as fook last year at Jerez, it started to rain so the Parkitt guys set up their Dyno, so Duncs took the wet bike up to them. After the run the guy doing was jumping up and down like an idiot, 205 RWBHP he'd never seen anything like it. So Nige took up the dry bike and it pushed 210 the operators face was a picture. Slightly higher readings than the Crescent Dyno that Dougie used.

  10. Wonder what engine work like that costs? And what it mean to maintenance schedules? My k5 with just a system, filter and custom pc5 if knocking 170, and I remember Stu had his done at Crescent and got close to 200 as he loves dragging it

  11. C'mon fella, we need the details....! Lol

  12. Dynapro Interceptor :Woot:

  13. wow, that looks great, I had a k9 1000 but that thing looks on another level. Some serious money obviously spent!

  14. Hi chaps,

I was fortunate enough to buy the bike mostly built with all the engine work done. All I had to do was buy the Marchesini wheels, clip ons and fit the K-tech front fork DDS kit.

The engine was blue printed & balanced by Steve Jordan and the head work was done by an engine builder who does work for MSS Colchester Kawasaki. I did have all the details and the dyno print out but they all went when I sold the bike. It was back in 2011 so my memory is a little sketchy now on the finer details.

The guy who I bought it off had a few quid so it was probably peanuts to have all the tuning work done. He never finished the project, I put the last bits on. Oh and it had a custom made wiring loom to do away with all the excess wiring after the road gear was removed.

If you have never ridden a bike with that much power then put it on your bucket list, the buzz is unreal. No experience I'd ever had, or will, compare to racing that bike. It broke my heart to sell it but to race it is a £1000 a weekend and thats if you don't fall off. Plus you have to factor buying and building the bike which came to about £15 grand for me. I paid £9k for the bike then the wheels, DDS kit and a few other bits and pieces along the way.

I was struggling to get podium places on it at some tracks. I found the bike really hard to turn and I didn't have any more money to invest in setting the suspension up, sort spring rates, shorten the wheel base etc. At Snett, Brands GP and Silverstone she handled superb but at Cadwell and Brands Indy I struggled big time.

I went to Silverstone and I was certain a pot was in the bag over that weekend but she through a rod out of the side and caught on fire on the test day. The bill for that came in at well over £5k for a brand new motor, chain, fairings etc. My Dad & sister had to drive to Paris to pick up the brand new engine! Then it was only kicking out 170bhp at the rear wheel and I did not have enough power to compete with the BMW's and Kawasaki's. That combined with the lack of money, girls, handling woes and still living at home I decided to jack it all in. Seemed like a good idea at the time but I'd sell my soul to the devil to go and do it again!

  15. P.S the fire also destroyed the HM quick shifter and thats over £400 quid to replace. Another thing that pi$$sed me off at the time lol!

  16. Ouch! Must say my 170 is unmanagable with short gearing and I cant imagine what that much power is like. Although I know a few 1098R's knock out that power and way more torque and all bar one I've spoken to found it impossible to ride fast, preferring 170hp territory.

I'm trying to get it to handle like my Ducatis, and have been researching geometry set up. Seems they work well with long chain, short gearing and the forks almost flush, with the 2mm swingarm offset which mine has. Allegedly the K5 has the perfect balance for high power through side edge grip, just a bit lardy.

Am wondering how light you can get one of these without spending shedloads on magnesium

Have to say, wearing a rear tyre to the wear marks in 7 sessions on track is expensive!
