Hi guys, Any one seen the 1198 at DMC Moto, or know the previous owner. I have been looking around for a while and been offered this bike , currently priced at £8995 at a discount to replace my Fireblade. It is a 11 plater, with DTC and QS, 7000 miles 1 owner , standard model with standard exhausts, looks good in the photos but am not local enough to go and take a look so was wondering if anyone has recently been in and seen it. Been told the 1198 will be a big difference to the Blade, which is the easiest bike I have ever had to ride, slowly or quickly whereas the 749 it replaced was a little more difficult....But as I only ride for fun at weekends, I want to go back to a more involving bike..... Any comments /thoughts would be great. Cheers Dave
not seen the bike in question mate but i went from a zx10r to my 1198, chalk and cheese!! 1198 so much better than the zx10. ok its not as easy in town or traffic but hey its a ducati. handles so much better out on the road so much more stable and your not revving the tits off it to go fast.
Cheers for that Cookster....Good to know how you are finding the change from IL4 to twin.....Have to say in terms of looks, the 1198 looks superb, Blade is great but you can lose it in a bike carpark as there are so many of the things......
I have just changed from a 2010 Blade to an 1198s. The Blade was a good bike, did everything well; but I never loved it. Since having the 1198 I haven't thought of much else. Change to a 14T front sprocket & it's not too bad in traffic either.
